Creating endnotes

You create an endnote by first inserting a reference number in the text of a document. That number is linked to the endnote's corresponding text, which you supply. Endnotes are common in term papers. Endnotes allow readers to read the document from beginning to end without interrupting the flow of the text with numerous references.

While working with an endnote, not all WordPerfect® functions are available until you return to the body of the text.

First, you must create the endnotes that you will later edit and format.

To create an endnote

  1. In your sample file, on the first page, click at the end of the word conventions.
  2. Click Insert menuFootnote/endnote.
  3. Enable the Endnote number option, and type 1 in the box beside it.
  4. Click Create.
When you click Create, the dialog box automatically closes.
  5. Type the following endnote text: Conventions are necessary in documentation to ensure parallel structure throughout.
  6. Repeat steps 1 through 5 to create consecutive endnotes for the following words in your sample file:

    Word
