Create shapes for the button

You'll need to create two ellipses of different size. You'll begin by creating the larger ellipse. Next, you'll apply a radial fountain fill to the ellipse to create the effect of light striking the button.

Draw an ellipse

  1. Click the Ellipse tool Lets you draw ellipses and circles
  2. Drag across the drawing page to draw an ellipse.
  3. On the property bar, click the Nonproportional scaling sizing ratio button Nonproportional Scaling/Sizing Ratio.
    The button appears pressed.
  4. In the upper Object size stacked box Lets you specify an object's dimensionson the property bar, type 80 to specify the width of the ellipse.
  5. In the lower Object size stacked box on the property bar, type 50 to specify the height of the ellipse, and press ENTER.

Color the ellipse

  1. Open the Interactive fill flyout Lets you access the Interactive fill and Interactive mesh tools and click the Interactive fill tool Lets you apply various fills to objects.
  2. From the Fill type list box on the property bar, choose Radial.
  3. Open the Fill dropdown color picker, and click the orange color swatch.
  4. Open the Last fill picker, and click the yellow color swatch.
  5. On the drawing page, drag the interactive vector handles Let you change the appearance of the fill to position them as shown.
  6. To remove the outline, open the Outline flyout Gives you access to tools that let you edit the outline of the selected object, and click the No outline button Lets you remove the outline of the selected object.
