Applying fills, lines, and color to the table
You will now apply fills to the table you have created, add a line style to divide the table cells, and add color to the fills and lines. You will apply an alternating fill to the table to create contrast between rows.
To apply fills with color to the table
- Click in the table.
- Click Table menu
Borders/fill.
- Click the Table tab.
- In the Fill area, click the Pattern button, and click the 20% fill tile on the palette.
The 20% fill tile is in the first row, fourth column of the palette.
- Open the Foreground button, and click the teal color swatch.
The teal color swatch is in the third row, second column of the color palette.
- In the Alternating fill area, choose Rows from the Type list box.
- In the Alternating fill area, click the Pattern button, and click the 50% fill tile on the palette.
The 50% fill tile is in the second row, first column of the palette.
- Open the Foreground button, and click the dark teal color swatch.
The dark teal color swatch is in the third row, first column of the color palette.
- Click Apply.
To apply lines with color to the table
- In the Default cell lines area, click the Line button, and click the Dotted tile on the palette.
The Dotted tile is in the third row, last column of the palette.
- Click the Color button, and click the teal color swatch.
The teal color swatch is in the third row, second column of the color palette.
- Click OK.
