Performance preferences

You can set various performance preferences to optimize Corel Painter. For example, you can change memory options such as the amount of RAM used by the application or specify the volume name (Mac OS) or drive (Windows) that you want to assign as a scratch disk.

The performance preferences are described in the following table.

Allows Corel Painter to detect and use your Mac system’s additional memory to improve speed and performance. To enable the Mac Memory Extender, your system must have more than 4 GB of available RAM and you must also allocate more than 4 GB of the available memory to Corel Painter (by adjusting the Memory Usage slider).
The number of Undo levels applies across all open documents. For example, if you set 5 undo levels and have two open documents, undoing three operations on the first document leaves you with only two undo operations on the second document.
