Defining the index

Once you have marked the section entries, you will define where and how the index will display in your sample file.

To define the index

1. Type the index title Index: Working with documents at the end of your sample file.
2. Press Enter.
3. On the Index toolbar, click Define.
4. In the Numbering format area, choose Text.....# from the Position list box.
5. Enable the Use dash to show consecutive pages check box.
6. Click OK.
   The message <<Index will generate here>> appears.
7. Select the index title.
8. On the property bar, click the Bold button.
