Find templates

Corel DESIGNER provides an easy way of finding templates.

You can search by the file name, title, or keywords associated with a template. For example, if you type "certificate" in the text field, the application automatically filters out all files that do not match, and you see only the files that have the word "certificate" in the file name or keywords. You can cancel a search at any time.

You can narrow the search results by using the template source (for example, only templates created by you) and category (for example, Brochures, Flyers, or Letterheads & Letters). You can also view the list of your favorite or most recently used templates and sort templates by the name and the date they were created or modified.

You can browse and search either the entire local library (local templates included with Corel DESIGNER and provided by third-party designers, as well as templates that you have created) or online library (online templates provided by Corel DESIGNER) or one pack, folder or list at a time within those libraries.

Add templates

To get you started, Corel provides templates from the Corel online library and local templates (stored in your Documents\Corel\Corel Content\Templates folder) that appear by default on the Templates tab of the Create a New Document dialog box. If you are looking to expand your template collection, you can download additional template packs from within the Get More dialog box.

To access templates that are saved to local folders outside your Documents\Corel\Corel Content\Templates folder, you can create links (also known as aliases) to these folders. In addition, aliases can be used to access templates saved to shared network locations as well as secondary storage devices such as USB flash drives, and portable hard drives.

When you copy a folder that contains many templates to your computer, it may take some time for your operating system to index the folder. To view, browse, and search templates in such a folder right away, you may need to reindex the folder.

View template and template information

You can increase the size of thumbnails to recognize a particular template easier and faster, and you can decrease thumbnail size to view more search results at a glance. When you select a template in the viewing area, additional information is displayed about the template’s category, style, pagination, and fold options.
