Many symbols you need have already been created and are stored in library files that are grouped into collections (groups of library files). The Symbols docker displays libraries and collections that are in your local Symbols folder. You can add libraries and collections (groups of library files) to your drawing from elsewhere on the network.
The symbols that you create in a drawing are saved with the Corel DESIGNER file. If you want to use the symbols in other drawings or share them with other users, you can save or export them to the Corel Symbol Library (CSL) format, creating a symbol library. When you save a drawing to the Corel Symbol Library (CSL) format, all symbol instances are saved with the document. When you export a library, only the symbols are saved with the document.
You can also save your document symbols to the Cloud as a Corel Symbol Library (CSL) file to share them with others and link the .csl file to the document. The linked symbol library appears under Linked Symbols. Symbols from a linked symbol library can be updated when the .csl file on the Cloud is updated.
You can delete libraries and collections, and you can add symbols to existing libraries.
By default, library files are referenced from their original location. If you want to copy a library to your Symbols folder, enable the Copy libraries locally check box.
If you are adding a collection, you can enable the Recursive check box to include subfolders.
You can also save the drawing to the Corel Symbol Library (CSL) format by clicking File Save As and choosing CSL - Corel Symbol Library from the Save as type list box in the Save Drawing dialog box. All symbols and symbol instances are saved with the document.
The collection or library is removed from the tree in the Symbols docker but files are not deleted.
