Inserting formatting codes

You can insert formatting codes, such as em dashes and nonbreaking spaces. In some programs, formatting codes are also known as “symbols.” The following table lists the available formatting codes and their corresponding keyboard shortcuts.

Using the Text tool , click to place the cursor where you want to insert a character or space.

Click Text Insert formatting code, and choose a formatting code from the menu.
The Insert formatting code menu is unavailable when the Text tool is not active.
You can insert a character not listed in the Insert formatting code menu by clicking Text Insert symbol character and clicking the character in the Insert character docker.
