Drawing the face
You will use the head you just created to draw the other parts of the clown's face. You will copy and paste the head, and then resize it and change the color to create ears, cheeks, eyes, and a nose. You will then use the Bezier tool to draw the clown's mouth.
To draw the ears
- Using the Pick tool , select the head.
- Click Edit menu Copy.
- Click Edit menu Paste.
- Using one of the corner sizing handles, drag to shrink the circle you just created to the size of an ear.
- Using one of the side sizing handles, drag to flatten the circle to create a more oval ear.
- Click Edit menu Duplicate to create the second ear.
- Place an ear on each side of the head.
To draw the cheeks, eyes, and nose
You can use the technique for creating the ears to draw the cheeks, eyes, and nose for the clown. Paste a copy of the head on your drawing page and resize it to the appropriate shape. You can then click the Interactive fill tool and change the colors in the fill using the First fill picker on the property bar. Click here to see what the face should look like.
To draw the mouth
- Open the Curve flyout , and click the Bezier tool .
- Click where you want to place the left side of the mouth.
- Click where you want to place the right side of the mouth, and hold down the mouse button.
- Drag up and to the right to adjust the curve of the line to make a smile.
- On the property bar, choose 1 pt from the Outline width list box.
- Click the Pick tool to finish the mouth.
