Drawing the hat

You are now ready to draw a hat to place on top of the clown's head.

To draw the hat

1. In the toolbox, open the Object flyout , and click the Polygon tool .
2. Draw a polygon on the drawing page.
3. On the property bar, type 3 in the Number of points on polygon box.
4. Place the hat on top of the head. Use the sizing handles to resize the hat as necessary.
5. Click the Interactive fill tool, and drag across the hat.
6. On the property bar, open the First fill picker, and click the blue violet color swatch.
7. On the property bar, open the Last fill picker, and click the neon purple color swatch.
8. On the color palette, right-click the no color swatch to set the outline.

To draw the bottom rim of the hat

1. Using the Pick tool, click anywhere on the drawing page to deselect all objects.
2. Using the Rectangle tool , draw a rectangle across the bottom of the hat.
3. Using the Shape tool , drag one of the corners of the rectangle inward to round the corners of the rectangle.
4. Click the Interactive fill tool, and drag across the rim of the hat.
5. On the property bar, open the First fill picker, and click the light violet color swatch.
6. On the property bar, open the Last fill picker, and click the blue violet color swatch.
7. On the color palette, right-click the no color swatch to set the outline.
