Drawing the balloons

You will now draw some balloons for the clown to hold.

To draw the balloons

1. Using the Ellipse tool, draw an oval.
2. Fill the oval with any color, and right-click the no color swatch to set the outline.
3. Click the Interactive fill tool.
4. Drag across the oval to create a gradient fill. If you want, replace the white color in the Last fill picker with another color.
5. Click the Bezier tool.
6. Using the same technique you used to draw the hat, draw a small triangle at the bottom of the balloon.
7. Copy the properties from the balloon to the triangle you just created.
8. Group the oval and the triangle.
9. Repeat steps 1 to 8 to draw two additional balloons.
10. Using the Pick tool, arrange the balloons in a bunch.

To draw the string

1. Open the Curve flyout, and click the Freehand tool .
2. Click at the bottom of one of the balloons to set the starting node of the string.
3. Click to set the end node of the string. All three stings should meet at the same end point.
4. From the Outline width list box, choose 1 pt.
5. Click Arrange menu Order To back.
6. Repeat steps 2 to 5 for the remaining balloons.
